May 6, 2022 | Bedfordshire Open Door

AFC Oakley Under 13’s have chosen Bedfordshire Open Door as their Charity of the Year and have taken an new approach with a reverse sponsorship arrangement whereby our logo is on the Away Team kit and to raise awareness and funds for our charity.

The Team Manager said “We chose Open Door as they are a Bedford based charity focusing on children’s mental health. As we have all seen and no doubt experienced, during the past 2 years, mental health and particularly that of young people, has been affected by the challenges we have all faced. Open Door are working hard to support those in need and we are delighted to be in partnership with them”.

As part of the fund raising Bal Mahey (U 13’s Marlins Coach and AFC Oakley Club representative) is going to be doing a Parachute jump. May 8th is the big day and we would love your support. There is a just giving page,

Any donation given will be split between the U13’s age group and Opendoor. The club has generously guaranteed Open Door a minimum donation of £500 for this season.

Please do click on the link and support Bal in his brave jump, you will be directly supporting local young people.
